Global Partner Highlight: Adopt A Village
South Africa is a very divided place by race and poverty. It is a place that needs the hope and love of Jesus.
Stadia partners with Adopt a Village in South Africa. The vision of Adopt a Village is to see spiritual and community transformation through the strategic placement of “Kingdom Catalysts” seeking to reach communities for Christ through Church Planting, Community Development and Orphan and Vulnerable Children Care.
Adopt a Village rests on 3 pillars: Church Planting, Community Development and Orphan and Vulnerable Children Care.
These kingdom catalysts, or church planters, are experiencing empowerment and getting the right tools to truly share the gospel. They have some really life changing stories to tell.
Nkosi Fenqe works in the town of Port Alfred, Eastern Cape South Africa. He shared this:
“Opposite our church one day, I heard 2 boys singing. It was a cold evening. I realized they were all alone. I discovered they were hungry. I got them in our vehicle and bought them supper. They asked me to teach them music which I did for 4 months. By the 4th month the 2 boys had grown to a group of 17 and then eventually 33.”
Zama said, “When I did home visits I met the family of a girl living with her daughter. This girl is 18-years-old and her parents are deceased. No one is taking care of them. We managed to buy food parcels for her and we are assisting her to get an ID document so that her daughter can get a birth certificate and qualify for a child grant.”
Stadia has helped fund almost 40 church planters to go through Adopt a Village’s training to be equipped to plant churches and we are excited about this continued partnership!
Passionate about the church and the people she’s been called to serve, Andrea has spent the entirety of her professional career in ministry. As a director at Mosaic Christian Church, she built the missions program into a sustainable, focused endeavor and developed the Kids Ministry into a thriving environment for children to encounter Jesus. From leading trips across the world to leading pre-k volunteers, Andrea has seen the very real impact of the local church on a given community, and it has only stoked her passion to see God’s lost children come home. In addition the her role at Stadia, she helps lead Gail’s Girls and is intentional about building others up to be all that God designed them to be. If she’s not at hip coffee shop working, you can find her at a spin studio, exploring Baltimore’s freshest restaurants with girlfriends, or in Pennsylvania spending the day with her family.
