Why Generosity?

Jesus was generous. In fact, Jesus was so generous that He gave His own life for us; God gave His one and only son so that we could have hope, forgiveness, and live with Him for eternity someday. The Bible teaches about generosity often because it is a core value of Christian character. Consequently, we believe that generosity is something we need to teach and model for our kids consistently. Stadia won’t stop planting churches until every child has a church (i.e. we value children highly) and because of this, we want to help equip you to reinforce the principle of generosity with your children!

Generous like Jesus is a series of lessons adaptable to a 4 or 5 session plan, designed to teach your kids about generosity. This is accomplished through the narrative of a real, existing church planting need. Learning accompanied with a real-life outcome is powerful! The curriculum enables you to teach generosity while providing the opportunity to actually give to and make a difference in a unique and urgently needed context. Your kids will get to learn, personally, about those in the world who are in need and get the immediate opportunity to respond in generosity. They will have the opportunity to give toward a vital global church planting initiative through Stadia and make a difference themselves! We are never too young to make an impact.

Generous like Jesus includes all materials you will need to “plug and play,” making it easy on your team and volunteers. Included will be the printable script for your large group lessons, all slides and media, printable take homes materials, and more. And the best part, it’s FREE!

Following the implementation of the curriculum and the gift your kids generously give to the new church initiative, your church will receive quarterly updates about the global church plant(s) to share with your kids and their families about the impact they are making.

Curriculum Overview

“Don’t forget to do good. Don’t forget to share with others. God is pleased with those kinds of offerings.”Hebrews 13:16 NIRV

Generous like Jesus is a series of 5 lessons, teaching your kids about generosity through the narrative of a real, existing church planting need. The curriculum teaches generosity while providing the opportunity to actually give to, and make a difference in, the narrative the lesson uses. Your kids get to learn personally about those in the world who are in need and get the immediate opportunity to respond in generosity. They have the opportunity to give toward global church planting through Stadia and make a difference themselves! We are never too young to make an impact.

The curriculum is very “plug and play” and includes the script/curriculum, media tools/photos, printable material and take homes. A large group leader, Indian Punjab suit (optional), Indian instrument (optional), blank white paper, markers, stickers, noise makers are not included but directed on how to use if you choose to do so.

Lesson Overview

Lesson One

Lesson one opens the value of generosity and gets the kids talking about it, how they would carry it out, and what the Bible says about generosity. The lesson introduces the definition of generosity and the memory verse for the theme. Lesson one shares the generosity goal amount that you will challenge your kids to give by the end of the week, month, or session.

Lesson Two

Lesson Two really opens up WHO you will be generous to as your kids learn about generosity and why that group of people need your help. You will talk about ways that your kids can raise money for this need. You will review the definition of generosity and the memory verse again.

Lesson Three

Lesson Three opens by reviewing the memory verse and definition of generosity once again. Then we share about what church can look like all over the world, how God’s church is different in diverse parts of the world and how they have the chance to help some churches that are in very poor areas. They will learn more about the people they have the opportunity to be generous to and again, why those people need their help. You will do an update on how much the kids have raised and how much more they have to go to hit their goal!

Lesson Four

Lesson Four again reviews the memory verse and definition of generosity. In this lesson your kids will get to know, more personally, some of the specific people they are helping. They will see photos and hear stories of these people. You will again review the goal and celebrate how far you have come and if you have the 5th lesson, do a push for your group to still hit your goal if you have not already.

Lesson Five

(This is an optional fifth lesson; the content can be merged with week four if there are time limitations)

Lesson Five gives a chance for the kids to create, write, draw, and make encouraging cards and photos for the people they have been generous toward. These letters/creations will then be sent to Stadia who will take care of getting them to those they have helped!
