Iglesia Rios de Agua Viva
November 2020 Update
Greetings sisters and brothers of MONAT! We are excited to share with you an update on the ministries and construction of Rios de Agua Viva.
Over the course of the last two months, we have made much progress in the construction. We installed window protectors in the classrooms and offices, installed gutters for the collection of rainwater, and installed showers. We tiled the floors and walls in the bathrooms and kitchen and plastered many of the rooms in the building.
In the last 60 days, the Church resumed church gathering activities, in which some parents and children are participating in compliance with security protocols. The Church has continued with the delivery of food aid to the beneficiaries and their families. Likewise, the church has worked on virtual child and ecclesial protection activities with beneficiaries and families.
The Church works hard to overcome some of the challenges they face, such as: a shortage of skilled labor enough to make significant progress on the construction site. The achievement of resources to cover the amount of the local contribution and the extra cost in construction materials due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the next 60 days, the Church intends to carry out the following activities in the construction schedule, pursuing completing the construction of the Development Center and working fully on the construction of the multipurpose room, once the aforementioned challenges have been overcome. We will install the electrical systems in the Development Center, we will install the sinks and toilets in the bathrooms, complete the construction of the kitchen, and lift the walls in the multipurpose room.
First, I want to thank God for life and health, for allowing me to be part of this program that has positively impacted my life. My whole family has learned about the life of Jesus through each of the activities. My son feels happy and blessed to have this support. In the same way, my family has been greatly blessed through the humanitarian aid delivered during all these pandemic months. The quarantine paralyzed and considerably affected our lives; it is wonderful to see how God works through each person who is part of this program.
Our lives are full of happiness for each call of the caregivers conducting accompaniment or inviting us to come to the Church to collect humanitarian aid that is vital in these times of crisis. That is why I thank God for the life of the donor, and for the lives of the people of the church. May God guide and minister their lives and families. May he fulfill His purpose and will through the Church, here I have met Jesus. This has been an excellent experience; I thank you very much in the name of Jesus.
