El Abra Esmirna Church

July 2016 Update

The finishing details of the construction began by laying out the foundation for the flooring and electrical wiring. We worked on the facade, construction gypsum in each classroom, window, door placement and ceramic flooring. Other details such as locks and doorknobs were installed as well. All of the previous phases are concluded. We are currently in the finished phase of construction. Our future activities include painting the interior and exterior walls.

Recently, we celebrated Children’s Day. We also had medical revisions for the children’s caregivers and gave Bible school activities with the children. We are also doing Sunday services and celebration of baptisms.

One of the challenges we had during construction was finding qualified workmanship for the finishing details in the construction. Most would tell us they were unable to comply with our scheduling.

We would like to express our gratitude for all the support we have received; if it weren’t for your collaboration, we wouldn’t have been able to execute and pursue the vision the Lord has placed in our hearts to reach many more people for Jesus Christ.

Now that we can watch the boys and girls at the project attending each Sunday school service, and attending the project during the week, we feel encouraged by their great enthusiasm and joy. With the passing of time, I decided to move to this neighborhood and be able to support the families better. It was my main desire to be able to share the Gospel with them.

One of the lessons I have learned from this whole season is that we need to dedicate more time to God’s work. I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing me to live out such an adventure to see His tangible grace on our behalf as we concluded the first phase of this project. We are most aware that our work is not done yet. I truly believe in these children and youth, for they are the present and future of the Church of the Lord.

God bless you all.
