Iglesia del Nazareno de Santa Maria
September 2020 Update
Greetings brothers and sisters of Canyon Ridge Church! We are excited to share with you an update on the ministries and construction of Iglesia del Nazareno de Santa Maria.
The church has formed a construction committee lead by brother Ruben Ajata, and with the participation of brothers and sisters form the church Miriam Arroyo, Edwin Ajata, Erwin Huchani and Ana Huanca. As soon as the quarantine was relaxed and the public entities were reopened, the church resumed the procedures corresponding to the legal documentation of the land in the Viacha Mayor. We’ve organized meetings with church leaders and the building committee, to define the construction design. Then it was presented to an architect so that she designs the official plans complying with all construction regulations and the plans would be approved by the mayor.
Since April, the mother church continued visiting the area of the daughter church, delivering food packages and hygiene materials to the families of the beneficiaries. The church also gave spiritual support to the families of the beneficiaries and the community by motivating them to persist in the ways of the Lord.
The biggest challenge was facing the pandemic, the project and church staff could not have face-to-face meetings to organize the implementation of this Church Planting, they finally held the meetings through Zoom. There have been road blocks due to political and social conflicts in the country, which have made it difficult to reach to the area where the land is located.
In the next 60 days, we plan to complete the unification procedures for the 3 lots of land we have to merge, the final architectural and engineering design, and have the official construction plans approved by the mayor’s office. If they manage to finish the legal procedures before time, they will start with the construction.

The church will be a place for all the children of the community”.

- We ask for prayer for the children of the daughter church who are going through difficult times as a result of the pandemic. We are very grateful for the unconditional support that the sponsors give them to build the house of God.
