Iglesia del Nazareno de Santa Maria

June 2022 Update

Greetings brothers and sisters of Canyon Ridge Church! We are excited to share with you an update on the ministries and construction of Iglesia del Nazareno de Santa Maria.

In August 2021, we continued with the construction of the perimeter wall. First of all, we placed the concrete blocks, poured and chained them to build the wall, considering the corresponding height according to the construction blueprint, and we prepared it for the installation of the garage and entrance door.

In the month of September 2021, we continued with the construction of the chaining of the concrete blocks and columns of the classrooms and the main meeting hall, construction of windows for the main meeting hall, the concrete block to place the water tank, we also made the purchase of beams and wooden slats, corrugated roofing sheets, nails, and we finished the work with the roof construction of the classrooms. After the roof construction, we held a special service of thanksgiving to God for the goal achieved.

In the month of October 2021, electric power was installed in the classrooms on both the first and second floors, for which all the material required by the electrician was purchased. Then we started with the purchase of construction material for finished work such as plaster, concrete, fine sand, etc. With those materials the classrooms were stuccoed.

In the month of November 2021, we continued with the progress of the finished work with the completion of two or three classrooms. All the wiring work for electrical power was completed, the assembly of the metal structure was finished and after that the roof of the main meeting hall was completed. At the end of the month, we organized a zonal fasting and five churches visited us, which gave us a lot of strength to continue.

In December 2021, the construction of the classrooms, hallway and part of the stairs were completed, and all the work was constantly supervised by the construction committee, according to the blueprints.

During the first two weeks of January 2022, the church had a change in leadership, so there was no progress in the construction, but the project staff worked on painting the classrooms during the last two weeks of the month.

The intervention continued with evangelistic campaigns during the months of February and March 2022, organized by the church leaders and the project staff, brother Rubén Ajata, president of the committee, and Sister Miriam Arroyo (project director). The services were for parents, and we also had services for children.

Among the challenges, we can mention the rainy and freezing season, which caused a delay in the continuity of the construction, since the construction worker recommended suspending the construction in order to guarantee the quality of the work. In addition, during the time of the Pandemic, the collection of funds for the payment of the workforce for the finished work was no longer possible due to the impact on the businesses of the members of the mother church.

As for the local contribution, the church organized different activities to raise the required funds, food sales were held at the end of the mother church services, and voluntary offerings were also requested from the brothers and sisters of the mother church.

From the moment I learned that we were blessed with this church planting intervention for our Daughter Church, we took on this challenge with much apprehension, because I had no experience of how to carry out this project. Along the way I started learning and gaining much experience. In the difficulties that arose, I clung more to God, and I understood that everything that is being done is for the welfare of families, for them to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. I feel very honored and grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to serve God in this way and now I understand that, if we are with God, nothing is impossible, and we should never give up. Even if we have many obstacles, may this not discourage us, on the contrary, may it be to get up with more strength and move forward. God bless all those who made this intervention possible, thank you.
