church planting leader daniel antondo

Stadia has had the honor of coming alongside hundreds of amazing leaders and help them to plant a new church. Church planters are heroes doing often difficult, unglamorous work on the front lines of ministry. They are meeting people far from God where they are and introducing them to grace, hope, and purpose in a relationship with Jesus. They are shedding tears with people in their struggles, and they are shedding tears of joy celebrating when people take next steps in their walk with Jesus.

Throughout the year, we want to introduce you to some of these amazing leaders and ask you if you are the next person or if you know the next person that will transform a community with a new church.

Meet Daniel and Kayla Atondo!

Daniel and Kayla Atondo planted EDEN Church in San Jose, CA in 2017 with a desire to reach Silicon Valley. The Atondos moved to Silicon Valley in 2015 with a mission to lead people without a background in church or Christianity to experience God’s love in a personal way and follow Jesus. Daniel grew up in Silicon Valley and is excited to be back in his hometown creating environments for people who are spiritually unengaged to find life in Jesus.

Daniel and Kayla are excited to create environments that intentionally care for children, too. They have two awesome sons: Cohen (4) and Grayson (2). In EDEN Kids, the church partners with parents to equip and build up families in leading their kids to follow Jesus. They say, “Kids are an integral part of our church, and we love partnering with families to help kids know and grow in Christ.”

When I asked them what talents they have discovered in themselves since starting their church planting journey, they said, “We’ve discovered the ability to multi-task,” and followed up with a smiling emoji. If you weren’t aware of your multi-tasking ability before you start a church plant, you’ll learn it pretty quickly!

When considering becoming a church planter, Daniel and Kayla advise you to pray, consider the commitment carefully, get as much start-up experience as possible, have trusted advisors, and build a healthy team.

If you are like the Atondos and looking to plant a church or know someone who is, we at Stadia are excited to get to know you and help you pray, consider the commitment, get the right experience and coaching, help identify trusted, experienced advisors, and help build a healthy team.
